It’s been a little while since our last Beyond the Gloss update.. and honestly, it’s because things have been a bit of a whirlwind. The kind of whirlwind where you’re excited, exhausted, slightly overwhelmed, and ridiculously proud all at once. So grab a brew - here’s what we’ve been up to at RS Valeting!

Two Vans on the Road - The Dream Gets Real

If you’d told us a year ago that we’d have two vans out on the road, we’d probably have laughed and carried on cleaning out someone’s wheel arches. But here we are! Two vans, a growing team, twice the work, and twice the responsibility!

And let’s be honest.. it’s not all smooth cruising.

The highs:

• We can serve more customers, faster.

• We’ve cut waiting times massively.

• Seeing both vans out and about makes us weirdly emotional.

• Our customers love the flexibility.

  
  

The not so highs:

• Double the maintenance.

• Double the product restocks.

• Double the chances of “Why is this bit making that noise?”

• And of course, managing two schedules while still trying to have a life.

  
  

But even on the chaotic days, there’s something so special about watching RS Valeting grow beyond the “one man, one van" stage. In this industry, most businesses never expand beyond one person - not because they’re not good enough, but because scaling is genuinely hard work. It means systems, trust, consistency, and learning how to let go of doing absolutely everything yourself. So seeing RS Valeting push past that point has been a massive milestone for us!

Our First Mention in the Local News!

This one deserves its own section because honestly.. WHAT A MOMENT.

A few weeks back, we got our very first mention in the local news. No matter how long we do this job, moments like that hit differently. It’s not about bragging rights, it’s about being seen. About our community recognising the effort, passion, and long hours that go into building something from the ground up.

We’ve always prided ourselves on being local, approachable, and part of the community - so seeing RS Valeting featured like that was a massive milestone. It’s one of those “take a screenshot immediately and send it to everyone you know” achievements.

We Got a Unit! (Yes, We’re Still Mobile Too!)

Probably the biggest update…We’ve taken on a unit!!

This is something we’ve dreamed about for years - a proper space where we can work no matter the weather, offer more services, and give customers the choice between mobile or drop-off. The best of both worlds.

What the new unit means for you:

• More advanced services

• A controlled environment for higher end work

• A reliable option during the winter months

• The ability to take on bigger, more detailed jobs

  
  

For us, it also means structure. A base. A place to grow the team. A place that feels like the start of the next chapter.

We'll never give up our mobile option - it's part of who we are as a business - but the unit lets us level up in ways we simply couldn’t before.

Ultimate Stance Show Prep

Another mentionable moment recently has been getting the chance to prep the Transporter HQ cars and vans for Ultimate Stance. This was one of those “stop and appreciate how far we’ve come” opportunities.

Show prep is different.. it’s not just about making a car clean, it’s about making it flawless. Every reflection, every angle, every tiny detail has to be dialled in. It’s the kind of work that tests your patience, your products, and occasionally your knees.. but the results are worth every second.

Seeing our work shining under the show lights, with owners trusting us to get their pride and joy ready for one of the biggest events of the season, was a massive honour. It pushed us, challenged us, and reminded us why we love this industry so much.

Looking Ahead for 2026..

If the last few months have taught us anything, it’s that growth isn’t linear. Some days you’re flying.. other days you’re juggling keys, chargers, schedules, two vans, and wondering whether you’ve eaten lunch.

But every step, even the chaotic ones - is moving RS Valeting forward.
